1. That Was Just Your Life
2. The End of the Line
3. Broken, Beat & Scarred
4. The Day That Never Comes
5. All Nightmare Long
6. Cyanide
7. The Unforgiven III
8. The Judas Kiss
9. Suicide & Redemption
10. My Apocalypse

This is a strong, solid, and well-composed Metallica album. Even though I liked the aggressive direction of "St. Anger", it was not comparable to their classic catalogues. The composition and arrangement of this album is well-done. Metallica showed the world that they still could write awesome metal songs.

However, the first thing that caught my attention was the sound production. It sounded really oppressed and bothered me as I went trough the entire album, so it took me a while to pay attention to what was really going on in each song.

I don't call this album "thrash metal" even though most riffs are very aggressive and fast. I hear some riffs that are comparable to their 80's era, some that are influenced by more recent music, and some that sound like 70's hard rock.

One of the best thing that I liked about this album is that they put songs in order that they used in 80's. I am pretty sure they did on purpose. Track 4 was another surprise for me. It is a ballad that is relevant to songs such as "Fade to Black" and "Welcome Home".

I would love to give 5 stars, but the sound production bothers me every time I listen to this...
